The TTC is hiring right now and offering big bucks for some jobs

If you live anywhere in Toronto right now you know the struggle of keeping up with inflation and the overall cost of living. 

From grocery store food hikes to a looming spike in transit costs, it’s safe to say things are getting expensive, and fast. 

Right now, the escalating prices in the city are showing no sign of slowing down and sadly the only bandage to this wound is to seek out higher paying jobs. 

Luckily, we got you covered because the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is hiring for many positions right now, and offering big bucks for them. 

We rounded up five available jobs that are offering up to nearly $125,000 for selected hires.

PROJECT COORDINATOR, SPACE MANAGEMENT

The TTC is looking for a project coordinator who will be “responsible for the planning and implementation of office space for the assigned TTC client departments being consolidated as part of the Modern TO initiative,” according to the TTC’s website.

The applicant must have completed a college diploma or a university degree in a related field to be considered. They must also have experience in real estate, construction and project management.

The right person for the job can expect to make between $99,717.80- $124,724 a year.   Jan. 20 is the last day to apply.

SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER

Are you interested in carrying out complex engineering duties? If so, the TTC is on the hunt for someone who will lead day-to-day operations and maintenance of equipment systems. You will be expected to work in many departments, including but not limited to electrical, mechanical and communications.

To be considered, the candidate  must have completed a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline in electrical and electronic engineering, as well as have some experience in the field. 

The selected applicant can make anywhere between $99,717.80 to $124,724.60 a year.

MANAGER, RAIL VEHICLES

Ever wondered what day-to-day operations look like for someone responsible for making sure the city’s street cars are running smoothly? Well, you can find out and apply to become a manager for rail vehicles.

The TTC is searching for someone to plan, direct and coordinate the daily activities of streetcar, light rail vehicles (LRV) and/or low-floor light rail vehicles (LFLRV), which operate on a 24/7 basis.

You will also be responsible for overseeing all work performed by employees.

To be considered, you’ll need to have a post-secondary college diploma or university degree under your belt in a related discipline.

PROJECT MANAGER, COMMUNICATIONS ENGINEERING

If you have a knack for managing and implementing projects from its inception to its completion then this is the right fit for you.

The TTC is looking for a project manager who will take on a range of responsibilities, including working with staff and stakeholders. 

To be considered for this role you will need to have graduated from college or university and have completed your Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or at least be able to within the first year on the job.

If you are the right candidate, you can expect to bring home anywhere between $111,930.00 to $139,867.00 a year. 
The last day to apply is Jan. 25.

SENIOR BUSINESS ARCHITECT

Are you well-versed in the world of architecture? If the answer is yes, the TTC might have something for you.

The company is searching for a senior architect who will be responsible for “the overall design of the enterprise business architecture and related information technology strategies.”

The salary range for this job is anywhere between $99,717.80 to $124,724.60 a year.
The last day to apply is Feb. 1.
