The Toronto Raptors’ North Side Crew is one of the most loved dance teams in the NBA this year, according to a new report.
Online gambling company Betway has analyzed the amount of Instagram posts, TikTok posts, and the number of Instagram followers for each NBA team’s dance team. A final ranking was then calculated to determine which team is the most popular on social media. There are 30 teams in the NBA and Betway compiled a list of the top 10 most popular dance teams.
The Toronto Raptors’ North Side Crew came in eighth place with over 17,900 Instagram followers, according to the report. The dance crew also has 7,328 Instagram hashtags and 348 hashtag posts on TikTok.
The Atlanta Hawks’ ATL Dancers is the most popular dance team in the NBA with over 116,700 hashtag posts on Instagram.
“The team has 116,742 Instagram posts tagged with its relevant hashtag ‘#atldancers’, the highest number of all teams. The ATL Dancers also has the highest number of posts tagged with the hashtag on TikTok, at 1,339 overall,” Betway said in a press release.
In second place is the Los Angeles Lakers’ Laker Girls with nearly 35,000 Instagram posts and 461,000 Instagram followers.
The Knicks City Dancers, who cheer for the New York Knicks, came in third spot for the most popular with 821 hashtag posts on TikTok.
Following in fourth spot is the LA Clippers’ Clippers Spirit which has 58,800 followers on Instagram. And in fifth place is the Miami Heat’s Miami Heat Dancers with 92,000 followers.
