Canadians can leave bitterness behind at Hop Valley’s Smash For A Bubble Stash event

Smash For a Bubble Stash

With summer right around the corner, there’s never been a better time to shed the negative energy that may have been following you around like a dark, dreary storm cloud for the past few years. The pandemic had most folks feeling as if they were the lead in Groundhog Day, living the same day over and over again – all while wearing a full sweatsuit.

While the world definitely could have stopped at the global pandemic, life continued to throw curve balls – and now, we’re stuck with the memories. In order to help Canadians move on from the trials and tribulations they’ve had to endure, Hop Valley is hosting two extremely cathartic events.

By attending one of the Smash For A Bubble Stash events, you’ll be able to get your hands on an ice-cold glass of Bubble Stash. You’ll also have the opportunity to register to bring an item to smash. Reservations are on a first come first serve basis, but you’re still invited to come have a cold Stash and watch the smash.

So what kind of items can you expect to meet their cryogenic end? Think your ex’s sweatshirt, your grad photo where your hair style didn’t go as planned or the horrible gift you got for Christmas last year. There’s also a good chance that you’ve accidentally shrunken one of your favourite, most expensive sweaters so bring that, too.

The Hop Valley team will use its cryogenic technology to freeze your items and smash them, freeing you of the terrible memories so you can move toward a brighter future. Not only will you get the satisfaction of seeing – and potentially smashing – the items that are making you feel bitter, but you’ll be rewarded with a refreshing Bubble Stash and a ton of Hop Valley hospitality.

Smash For A Bubble Stash will be at CRAFT Beer Market on May 25 in Toronto (1 Adelaide St E) from 4:20 to 9 pm. And those living in Vancouver can visit CRAFT Beer Market (85 W 1st Ave) on June 1, also from 4:20 to 9 pm. Canadians can book a time slot at SmashForABubbleStash.ca to take part in the therapeutic smash.

“It’s been a rollercoaster few years and we want to give Canadians the opportunity to release their frustrations,” shares Steph McLarty, senior brand manager at Hop Valley Canada. “Our unique way of brewing Hop Valley creates a beer that is less bitter without sacrificing the flavours and aroma that IPA drinkers love. Our Smash For A Bubble Stash event will give Canadians a fun teaser to our new brewing process while allowing them to literally smash their lingering bitterness.”

At both of the events, the Hop Valley team will be pouring pints of Bubble Stash, an approachable IPA with less bitterness than traditional varieties. The beer is made using Cryo Hops, which is a brewing process that uses liquid nitrogen to create a smoother taste.

Bubble Stash is lighter in colour and embraces the sweet flavours of stone fruits, blueberry and tangerine. It has a touch of dank resin from the Cryo Hops, making the brew stand out from other IPAs. It’s incredibly easy to enjoy while catching up with friends or when you’re soaking up the sun’s rays on your patio.

Hop Valley partnered with Yakima Chief Hops to develop the revolutionary Cryo Hops brewing process. During this method, brewers take lupulin glands from the hop cone, cryogenically freeze them and then smash them. This creates enhanced flavours and aromas, resulting in a refreshingly different IPA that leaves bitterness behind. The innovative method is the perfect example of how science and technology are entering the brewing industry, driving new ways to elevate our beverage of choice: beer.
