This summer, the City of Toronto is shining a spotlight on the heart, soul, and creative spirit of the city’s west end with Cultural Hotspot — a vibrant, free arts and culture program running now through October.
Kicking off on June 14 from 2:30 p.m.- 5:00 p.m., this year’s spotlight is on Jane and Finch, transforming the neighbourhood into a hub of art, music, dance, and community connection. With lively workshops, striking visual art, and high-energy performances, Cultural Hotspot turns Jane Finch Mall into a creative playground you won’t want to miss.
Enjoy a warm welcome from Anishinaabe Grandmother Kim Wheatley, then groove to an incredible lineup hosted by R&B artist Kibra, including, DJ CUR8 JUNO-nominated rapper Clairmont the Second and dynamic performances from LolaBunz, Wheel It Studios, and a Vogue session with the Toronto Kiki Ballroom Alliance.
Before the performances, explore community info tables showcasing the 2025 SPARK and Signature project recipients, local arts organizations and changemakers shaping the neighbourhood.
More than just a festival, Cultural Hotspot is a city-supported celebration that invests in the creativity and talent of Toronto’s communities — especially those beyond the downtown core. With $360,000 in annual support, the program fuels youth mentorships, job opportunities, exhibits, and events that build lasting impact.
The excitement continues all summer with events like:
- Black Creek Community Farm Festival
- Kiki Lounge Wednesdays – spotlighting ballroom culture
- Urban Griot Summer Program – a youth collage workshop
Whether you’re a local, an arts lover, or simply curious to explore a vibrant Toronto community, Cultural Hotspot 2025 is your invitation to celebrate culture, creativity, and connection — all summer long.
