The legendary Canadian music festival Boots and Hearts returned to Burl’s Creek Event Grounds over the weekend for four days of music, camping, and fun. Despite some intense weather conditions, country music fans sang their hearts out and danced in the rain, making the most of the quintessentially Canadian event and celebrating all weekend long.
Running from August 10 to 13 in Oro-Medonte, Ont., the 2023 Boots and Hearts lineup was packed with rock and country heavy hitters, including Nickelback, Keith Urban, and Tim McGraw.
“Since starting the festival in 2012, we’ve focused on delivering a premium festival experience and offering once in a lifetime moments,” Eva Dunford, founding partner of Republic Live, who organized the festival, said in a statement.
Other artists who took to the Boots and Hearts stages included Seaforth, Blanco Brown, and Danielle Bradbery.
On Saturday, festival-goers were evacuated from the event space due to a tornado warning issued in the surrounding area. But after about an hour of waiting, performances resumed and people were able to head back to the stages and enjoy the festivities.
Attendees told Now Toronto that some of their favourite parts of the annual event include partying with their friends, camping out on the event grounds for the weekend, taking in some of their favourite artists, and discovering new music.
Those in attendance also had the opportunity to try delicious eats from a variety of food trucks and other vendors, enjoy rides on the Ferris wheel, and capture memories in front of the various country-themed photo-ops, including a Hollywood sign-style Boots and Hearts marquee and a huge pair of pink cowboy boots.
A man named Daniel was at the festival with his brother and told Now Toronto that they attend the festival every year, as it combines two of his favourite things.
“I just love country music and family.”
