R&B artist Kehlani has unexpectedly cancelled their Wednesday night show in Toronto and fans across the city are in shambles.

The “After Hours” singer regretfully took to Instagram stories this afternoon to announce the cancellation.

“Toronto.. you know how much I love you. I have been so excited for tonight’s show. Unfortunately I’m unable to perform tonight and have been instructed to rest my voice and body,” Kehlani wrote.

“I’ll be back and I’ll miss you until I see you again,” they added.

Toronto would have been the fourth city stop on Kehlani’s Crash World Tour, which kicked off in Minnesota, U.S. just last week. The tour also featured openers Anycia and British girl group Flo.

Highly-anticipated to return to the city after two years since their Blue Water Road Trip Tour show at Budweiser Stage, Kehlani fans are reeling following the abrupt announcement, including the few who were already on route to the city from out of town.

Another fan, believed to be based in Montreal, said they woke up bright and early to take a five-hour long train ride to Toronto, only to find out while on the way that the show had been axed.

“Theres no way…  im almost in toronto and kehlani cancelled her show,” they posted on X

Many are in disbelief and blaming the infamous “Toronto curse” once again, a coincidental phenomenon where performing artists just so happen to cancel or postpone their Toronto concerts at the last minute. In the last year, several artists, including SZA, Jhené Aiko, and Lil Wayne, left concert-goers disgruntled after unexpected show cancellations.

Kehlani followed up hours after their initial announcement on Instagram stories, promising to reschedule the show.

“I understand everyone’s frustrations but what’s going on is completely out of my control,” the singer wrote. “Will be rescheduling the show, promise.”

Scotiabank Arena officially confirmed the cancellation on X, noting that ticket holders will be receiving refund information directly from Ticketmaster.
