What to know

  • Hits Daily Double reports that Drake is in serious talks with Coachella organizers for a 2027 headlining slot, but no official confirmation has been made.
  • Drake released three albums in 2026 — Iceman, Maid of Honour and Habibti — followed by the FOMO short film and an expanded Habibti (FOMO) release.
  • The Toronto rapper has already said a 2027 world tour is coming, though dates and cities have not yet been announced.
  • Drake last headlined Coachella in 2015 and returned as a surprise guest during Future’s set in 2017.
  • Coachella 2027 runs April 9–11 and April 16–18 in Indio, California.

Is Drake gearing up for another Coachella takeover? Rumours are swirling that the 6ix’s beloved artist could make his big return to the desert stage in 2027.

According to Hits Daily Double, Drake is reportedly being considered to headline the iconic festival, following his trilogy album release and FOMO short film.

If the rumour turns into a booking, it would mark Drake’s first Coachella headline appearance since 2015.

That performance became one of the most talked-about sets of the weekend after Madonna appeared as a surprise guest and kissed Drake onstage.

He returned to the festival in 2017, this time joining Future as a surprise guest during his set.

A 2027 return would therefore come 12 years after Drake last headlined the festival.

Coachella is scheduled for April 9–11 and April 16–18, 2027, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif.

For now, though, Drake’s name remains exactly that — a name in the discussion.

‘OVOChella would be a movie’: Fans react

Drake fans are thrilled by the Toronto rapper’s possible takeover of the iconic festival.

“OVOChella would be a movie,” one Instagram user wrote.

“Well overdue to return,” another added.

“I will sell a kidney for a ticket,” another user said.

Not everyone was thrilled by the possibility, though.

“Did they not learn from 2015?” one user asked, while another said they would be “selling my tickets” if Drake ends up on the bill.

For now, fans will have to wait for an official lineup announcement.

But with a world tour already on the horizon and Drake fresh off one of the busiest release years of his career, the Coachella rumour is enough to keep “OVOChella” chatter alive.
