Drake is keeping fans on their toes after announcing a mysterious “Fear of Missing Out” event set to arrive on YouTube later this month.
In a cryptic Instagram post, the Toronto rapper shared artwork reading “Fear of Missing Out,” along with the caption, “SEPT 15 🏝️ YOUTUBE 9PM 🎡.”
Drake did not explain what viewers can expect, and the post does not specify a time zone. There is currently no other information available about whether the event will be a livestream, music video, visual project, tour announcement, or the beginning of another episodic rollout.
Drake’s decision to point fans toward YouTube is already drawing comparisons to the way he introduced Iceman.
Could Drake be planning another YouTube rollout?
Drake’s entire Iceman era played out through four cinematic YouTube episodes, which featured elaborate scenes, surprise appearances and previews of unreleased music. The fourth episode ultimately became a visual album and accompanied the surprise release of Iceman, Maid of Honour and Habibti.
That rollout has left fans wondering whether “Fear of Missing Out” could follow a similar format, with the Sept. 15 event serving as the first chapter of another larger project.
Drake began teasing the name in August when he shared an image of what appeared to be a CD case marked “Fear of Missing Out.” The only caption was a camera emoji, fuelling speculation that a visual project was in the works.
Fans quickly filled the comments with theories and excitement.
“You really said steak, lobster and shrimp, now we’re getting caviar,” one fan wrote. “You’re making sure we’re well fed this year.”
Others added, “Here we go again,” and “we are ready,” while another fan asked the question that has been following Drake for weeks: “where the tour dates tho?”

The announcement arrives just days after Drake made a surprise appearance during Don Toliver’s Toronto concert at Scotiabank Arena.
Drake performed “Shabang,” “Burning Bridges” and “Janice STFU,” marking the first time he performed tracks from Iceman live. The mini-set gave Toronto a glimpse of what a full Iceman concert could look like and immediately fuelled speculation that a tour announcement may be on the way.

Drake is also no stranger to building a spectacle around a release. The Iceman rollout included a massive ice sculpture in downtown Toronto containing clues about the album’s release date.
