Fans of Drake are going to have to savour his new album For All The Dogs as the Toronto rapper plans on taking a break from music to focus on his health.
During an interview on “Table For One,” his radio show on SiriusXM, the artist said he’s been experiencing stomach issues for years and it’s time to prioritize that. This means stepping away from the music scene for at least “a year or so,” he says.
“I probably won’t make music for a little bit, I’m gonna be honest. I need to focus on my health, first and foremost — and I’ll talk about that soon enough. Nothing crazy, but just like, you know, I want people to be healthy in life, and I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach,” he said on the show.
“I need to get right, I have a lot of other things that I would love to focus on. So I’ma lock the door on the studio for a little bit, I don’t even know what a little bit is. Maybe a year or so, maybe a little longer,” the rapper added.
Drake’s long-awaited album For All The Dogs came out early Friday morning and fans had a lot to say about the Toronto rapper’s latest masterpiece.
Back in June, Drake introduced the world to his debut poetry book, Titles Ruin Everything: A Stream of Consciousness, and to go along with the book he revealed a new album was coming too. The 23-song album was supposed to drop on Sept. 22 but the release date was pushed to Oct. 6.
“They say they miss the old Drake, girl don’t tempt me. FOR ALL THE DOGS,” the rapper said.
But did Drake actually fulfill his promise and deliver an album reminiscent of his old work? Apparently not, according to some fans.

Meanwhile, other fans are defending the rapper saying the album is his best so far and does remind them of old Drake.
For All The Dogs features a stellar lineup of guests including J. Cole, Bad Bunny, SZA, Chief Keef, 21 Savage, PartyNextDoor, Lil Yachty, Sexyy Red and more.
Despite this, the only special guest fans are actually talking about is none other than Drake’s son Adonis Graham who appeared at the end of track five, “Daylight.”
“Don’t talk to my man like that, I like it when you like it. My, my, my, my man,” the young rapper and album cover artist says in the song. Though he only had just a few verses, it was enough to pull some mixed reactions from fans.
Drake is scheduled to hit the stage at Scotiabank Arena for two back-to-back shows tonight and tomorrow for his “It’s All A Blur” tour. Ahead of the shows, fans have been endlessly speculating about who his special guests could be. Potential possibilities include Central Cee, J. Cole, Travis Scott, and Future among others.
On Thursday, the rapper also revealed that his tour mate and Her Loss collaborator 21 Savage finally got his green card in one of his new tracks “8AM in Charlotte” causing Toronto fans to lose their mind over the highly-possible chance that he may appear in Toronto’s shows.
The city is also showing its support in honour of the rapper being home. On Friday, Scotiabank Arena was transformed into “October’s Very Own Arena” just for the concerts.

In addition, GO Transit also collaborated with Drake to promote his tour. The Drake X GO Takeover includes some new black and gold signage which can be seen on one of its GO trains, as well as a sign at Bloor GO Station.
However, due to the transit agency’s major network outage on Tuesday which resulted in numerous service interruptions, the campaign is being met with negative reactions.
