The weekend of love is finally here, and don’t let the snowy conditions stop you from having fun and celebrating with your loved ones.

From a comedy show to a dance party, here are some events for this love weekend that you don’t want to miss.

Friday, Feb. 14

Lovers and Laughs Valentine’s Day Standup Comedy 

Get ready to love and laugh with comedians like Tamara Shevon, Mr. Lewin, Jordanne Brown and Zabrina Douglas at The Rec Room. Whether it be a romantic date, or a solo adventure – enjoy some good laughs this Valentine’s Day. Tickets for the 10 p.m. show are still available and they are starting at $26.89.

Murder Mystery Valentine’s Day Dinner & Show 

Want to be part of a detective team for the night? Well, you’re invited! A cast of characters will be introduced to you and when someone ends up dying, it will be your job to find out how they were murdered! The suspects are spread around the room, sitting at the same table as guests and you will get to see if you can solve the mystery. Join in on this unique Valentine’s Day idea!
The tickets for the show are going for $54.58 and arrival time is at 7:30 p.m. it will be going until 9:45 p.m. The event will be hosted at the Chelsea Hotel.

Mamma Mia! Valentine’s Sing-Along


Enjoy this timeless classic like never before by bringing your family and friends to sing and shout at your favourite scenes! This fun musical features ABBA’s amazing hits on the movie screen. This feel-good experience will be unforgettable! Tickets are $15 and are available here.

ROM After Dark: Lunar Love

This ROM After Dark (RAD): Lunar Love event is inspired by both Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day. The event will feature special performances by Phil Wizard, Canada’s first ever breakdancing champion, a Yi Mo Tong Lunar New Year Lion Dance, DJ Sakiko Nagain (disco, groove, city pop and hip hop) and New Ho Queen. There will also be selfie stations and a red envelope workshop! Each guest will acquire a free drink ticket.

Saturday, Feb. 15

National Flag of Canada Day Celebration


Celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Canadian flag at Nathan Phillips Square from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Show Canadian pride by wearing red and white, and warm up with complimentary hot chocolate, while supplies last. This event will feature a flag-raising ceremony and a powerful performance of the national anthem will be played. Ontario’s first Poet Laureate, Randell Adjei, will deliver moving spoken word poetry. Plus, enjoy a special appearance by original cast members from the celebrated Canadian musical Come From Away.

Black Girls Dance Too Pop-up Event

Honour the art form of dance as an empowering avenue for many youth by attending this event. Families from every community around Toronto and the GTA with youth ages 6 and older are invited. This event will have interactive activities like a button-making station, a dance history presentation, a dance workshop and more! The event will be at The Assembly Hall from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Toronto Valentine’s Day Social Dance Party

Access Ballroom will be hosting the annual Toronto Valentine’s Day Social Dance party. You can expect to enjoy a group class, a night of social dancing and complimentary refreshments. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and it will kick off with a Bachata group class at 7:50 p.m. Performances from students will follow and then get ready to dance the night away.

Sunday, Feb. 16

Clay Sculpting Workshop

Artbox will be hosting a hands-on sculpting workshop so you can tap into your creativity. Create a unique piece and learn from experienced instructors. Connect with others while creating your sculpture, and enjoy the relaxing ambiance. You must be 12 years old or older to participate. Rewind Canada: Lover & Friends Day Party

That Slow Jam Party: Six-Year Anniversary 


Do you love slow jams? This party is for you. Timeless classics will be played all night and you can expect to experience a love-filled evening with a whole lot of soul. Don’t miss out and get your tickets here! The party venue is at The Axis Club and will start at 10 p.m.
