Attention foodies: Toronto’s Union Station has been ranked as one of the top 10 train stations in the world for food and drink options, according to a new study by Japanese Rail Pass.

The research evaluated 43 major train stations globally, assessing the quality, variety, and value of food and beverage offerings.

Union Station placed 7th overall, ahead of several major international hubs. New York City’s Grand Central Terminal took the top spot.

Toronto was not the only Canadian city to make the list: Montreal Central Station also earned a place in the top 10, coming in at number 10.

Stations were also evaluated across six key factors: number of food and drink outlets, rating of the most-reviewed restaurant, proximity to the nearest highly rated (4.5-star) restaurant, café review scores, cost of an inexpensive meal, and average price of a domestic beer.

Union Station’s strong showing is perhaps unsurprising. Over the years, it has significantly expanded its food and beverage offerings, now featuring a wide range of options including Shake Shack, Jersey Mike’s, Bingz, Craig’s Cookies, and Blondies Pizza.

Reflecting Toronto’s cultural diversity, the station also offers a variety of global cuisines, including Indian, Thai, Venezuelan, and Jamaican food, among others.
