Events happening in Toronto this weekend: Oct. 11-13

Toronto, you made it to the Thanksgiving long weekend which calls for lots of turkey, gobbles and celebration. This weekend, there’s tons of events fit for the fall season and for the whole family. 

There are several activities to check out this weekend such as Pumpkinfest Toronto, the Toronto Flower Market and international music event Solonda, among others. 

Friday, October 11:

Pumpkinfest Toronto

Pumpkinfest is back at Downsview Park for four days of activities from games to delicious food. Guests can expect midway rides, inflatable fun, live entertainment, food trucks and of course, a huge pumpkin patch for the perfect photo opportunity. The event runs until Oct. 14 from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 each for adults.

Spooky Season Movie Month

Watch the 2007 horror film Funny Games at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts for free as part of Soulpepper Theatre’s Spooky Season Movie Month. Every week, the venue will be showing screenings of popular horror movies. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the screening starts at 7 p.m.

The Toronto Halloween Show

Find your perfect Halloween costume at the Toronto Halloween Show happening at The Warehouse at Downsview Park. There, you can shop from local vendors to curate costumes, get decor and all things dark and mysterious. It starts at 4 p.m and ends at 9 p.m. Tickets range from $9 to $28.

Glow in the Dark Dodgeball Tournament Practice

Have you ever tried playing dodgeball in the dark? Well, here’s your chance. Glow Sports Club is hosting a glow in the dark dodgeball tournament practice in Scarborough and it’s inviting guests to come out and practice their skills before joining an epic battle. There’s going to be a DJ, food and refreshing drinks. It’s free to attend and is happening at 50 Weybright Court Unit #25, from 8 to 11 p.m.

October Weekends at Scarborough Museum

Bring your family and friends to Scarborough Museum for some Halloween-themed fun where they can enjoy a warm drink, fresh treats and family-friendly games and crafts. It’s free and the event begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.

Pick out a bouquet of beautiful flowers to bring to Thanksgiving at the Toronto Flower Market, located outside of CAMH. There’s going to be over 90 Ontario flower vendors to choose from. It starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. Make sure to arrive early to get the best pick of the lot.

Brunch Singles Mixer for Professionals

If you’re single and ready to mingle, you must attend the Brunch Singles Mixer for Professionals, hosted by the Toronto Dating Hub. The event includes a group of 30 professional singles between the ages of 25 to 40 years-old and will feature group speed dating rounds, icebreakers, and open mingling. It’s from 1 to 4 p.m. at Pizza Rustica. Tickets range from $25 to $37.

Spend the day at Soluna for its first-ever international music event, Solonda. The event debuts at the Grand Bizarre from 3 to 10 p.m., with Francis Mercier as the event headliner and special guest, Habibeats. It promises an immersive party experience blending art and culture with live entertainment and beats by top-tier DJs.Tickets start at $57.

inTO Ravine Days – Guided Fall Walk in the East Don River Parkland

Take a walk and witness the beauty of the autumn season with the Toronto Nature Stewards and Bayview Village Turtle Protectors, as they take guests on a guided fall tour. The tour will take you along the East Don River Parkland trails, include talks about invasive plants and will enlighten guests on the history of the area. The free tour is from 1 to 3 p.m. at Alamosa Park.

Bickers & Tsang

Head to Harbourfront Centre to see its new art exhibit Bickers & Tsang. The exhibition, by Emma Bickers and Sami Tsang, uses clay objects to storytell and express personal narratives. The exhibition explores the drama of daily life, emotion and imagination. It’s free to visit and is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
