The internet’s favourite foodie has spoken, and it turns out Toronto is one of his top places to grab some good food.
During a recent interview on the Club Shay Shay podcast, popular food critic Keith Lee revealed his top five cities for food, and Toronto took fourth place.

- Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A

While host Shannon Sharpe was shocked that Lee’s list doesn’t feature hotspots like New York or Atlanta, Lee says that it’s about accessibility.
The Detroit native explained that when he goes on food tours, he does it for people who look like and come from similar backgrounds to his team.
“So, we specifically do it for people who can jump on a plane, that are foodies and just want to go try food,” Lee explained.
As such, Lee and company check out more under-the-radar restaurants, and spots that are known more to locals than celebrities and influencers.
“If you know, you know, kind of places that have great food, great customer service,” Lee explained. “We also go to staples in the community to show respect to each city that we go to.”

So, after Lee’s exciting visit this year, it was welcome news to many Torontonians that our city snagged a spot in the top five.
“Toronto definitely deserves a top 5 spot. The food goes crazy here simply because of the diversity of our population. You can find food from almost every culture here,” one person commented on TikTok.
“Being from toronto I can tell you the food here is really good. We don’t have a specialty but we do everything really well… I’ll tell you though, that top 3 legit lol,” someone else shared.
“& the crazy part is he only touched the tip of the iceberg with the best in Toronto.”
