From high-energy beats to Celtic classics, Mississauga’s Living Arts Centre has a show-stopping lineup of performances in 2024

Whether you enjoy melodious harmonies from a beautiful orchestra or the soothing crooning of  rhythm and blues, Mississauga’s Living Arts Centre has a handful of captivating performances perfect for the whole family to enjoy.

Filled with music and nostalgia, the many performances hitting the stage in the new year will leave audiences in awe of the various talents on display. From a captivating drumline to a tribute to iconic country superstar Johnny Cash, there’s exhilarating shows that will pique everyone’s interest.

From start to finish, the Living Arts Centre has convenience in mind for guests. Complimentary onsite, underground parking is available after 6 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends. Before each show, guests can start their evening off right with a delicious bite to eat at the Living Arts Centre’s LIVE Restaurant. Located in the elegant dining room, the restaurant offers an exquisite taste of the arts with a pre-show dinner menu that will please everyone’s palette.

Below are details about the Living Arts Centre’s upcoming performances in 2024.

MSO: Tosca (Opera)

The Mississauga Symphony Orchestra is presenting a fully staged production of Puccini’s Tosca. The story is set in Rome during the Napoleonic era and tells the tale of zealous painter Cavaradossi and passionate singer Tosca who are madly in love. The show is filled with passion and rebellion as the lovers are involved in a tragic conflict. 

Tosca will be centre stage from Feb. 8-10, 2024 at 8 p.m. More information and tickets can be found here

The Dreamboats

Who’s ready to dance the night away to the sounds of the 50s and 60s? The Dreamboats are a quartet from Mississauga who deliver a high-energy show with a sound reminiscent of Chuck Berry & The Wonders. The group will wow the crowd with its award-winning music from the timeless era, to a new generation to discover.

If you love a good boost of nostalgia, this performance is for you! Providing a fun and curated throwback trip, the 10-person group from Toronto brings to life many of the greatest songs of all time, igniting the audience with their charm and theatrical flair. The group celebrates classic pop and rock, with electrifying renditions of over 700 songs.

The Pack Drumline

Get ready to get up from your seat and dance to the dynamic rhythms and high-energy beats of this talented group. The Pack Drumline includes percussionists and dancers with years of experience in their craft. They use a unique blend of Southern Show Style Drumming and Intense Upbeat Choreography to create a show-stopping performance. The show includes original compositions and classic favourites, with explosive rhythms of the bass drums to intricate patterns of the snare drums.

Celtic Roots

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day to classic Irish music in this festive concert. Audience members are encouraged to sing-a-long to songs by the Dubliners, Celtic Women, the Irish Rovers, and the Chieftains. The show features River North along with celebrated artists, including fiddler Brigit O’Regan, with Percussionist/Bodhrán Player Jacob McCauley.

The Man In Black: A Tribute to Johnny Cash

With his striking resemblance and baritone voice, Shawn Barker’s tribute to late country star Johnny Cash is a show you don’t want to miss. Barker embodies both the mind and spirit of Cash as he stays in character throughout the entire evening. The unforgettable show includes a professional band and a female singing group paying tribute to the Carter Sisters, including Jessica Morales singing as June Carter.
