A man’s birthday ride in a Ferrari ended badly after York Regional Police pulled him over for stunt driving, and the interaction, captured on video, is going viral.

In the footage, shared by police, officers are seen pulling over the driver, saying he reached almost double the road’s speed limit, locking the Ferrari’s speed at 130km/h in a 70-km/h zone.

“You can’t go 130 km/h in a 70 km/h zone,” the officer says firmly.

But even after being confronted, the driver insists he wasn’t going that fast. “I wasn’t doing 130,” he protests. “How? When I’m behind you?”

The officer calmly explains that he used a radar system installed in the cruiser to lock the driver’s speed. “Yes, I can. I have a radar in my car. There’s nothing I can do.”

That’s when the driver tried using his birthday to bargain the charge, begging for the officer to let him go.

“Officer please, it’s my birthday,” the driver begs. “I haven’t driven the Ferrari for a while… I’m on my way to my birthday party.”

But the officer doesn’t budge.

“It’s a stunt,” he said, referring to Ontario’s strict stunt driving laws, which apply to any driver caught going 40 km/h or more over the speed limit in zones under 80 km/h.

“They’re gonna take my car?!” the driver gasps. The officer confirms: “Yes.”

“Officerrrr… Please! Please just give me a ticket! I beg you!”

The officer replies, “I can’t give you a ticket.”

Ultimately, the footage also shows the man calling his parents from the side of the road: “Mom, you have to come pick me up. The police pulled me over.”

Under Ontario’s stunt driving laws, drivers caught at these speeds face an automatic roadside vehicle impoundment for 14 days, a 30-day license suspension, fines, demerit points, potential jail time and increased insurance costs.

Social media users have been quick to react to the video, with some mocking the driver’s desperate pleas and others highlighting the importance of enforcing traffic safety—birthday or not.

“Stunt driving is the absolute worst too,” a user commented on TikTok.

“I don’t like these drivers’ sense of entitlement. Like they are above the law. Thank you for protecting our roads,” another user wrote.
