Toronto, Bruno Mars is coming to town, which means another music-filled season at Rogers Stadium is officially underway. Here’s everything you need to know before the show, from how to get there to bag policies, opening acts and weather expectations.
Update: May 22, 12 PM — This article has been updated with critical GO Transit weekend line closures.
The concert is at Rogers stadium, not Rogers Centre
First things first: this is a Rogers Stadium show, not a Rogers Centre show. Concert-goers will be heading to the venue at Downsview Park in Toronto’s north end.
How to get to Rogers Stadium on TTC and GO Transit
Ideally, the easiest way to get there would be by taking the TTC to Downsview Park Station or hopping on GO Transit’s Barrie Line to the same stop. Once you arrive, follow the signs to the stadium, it’s about a 10-minute walk from the station.
However, there will be no GO service to Downsview Park Station during concert dates as recently announced by Metrolinx.
No GO service to Downsview Park Station during concert dates
The planned closure means there will be no service Downsview Park GO, which is the closest GO station to the stadium.
There will be no GO train service at Downsview Park Station on May 23, 24 and 30 due to planned track work, with no replacement buses stopping at the station. Concertgoers are urged to take the TTC to get to the stadium. GO replacement buses will only operate between Allandale Waterfront GO and Highway 407 Bus Terminal.
The good news is: in order to support concertgoers through the closure, TTC will be offering additional service.
Additional GO Transit disruptions are also affecting the Lakeshore West line this weekend, with no train service running between Aldershot and Union Station due to major track upgrades. Replacement buses will run from West Harbour, Aldershot, Burlington, Oakville and Clarkson GO stations to Bramalea GO, where passengers can connect to GO trains on the Kitchener Line toward Union Station.
On-site parking at Rogers Stadium
On-site parking is limited and must be purchased in advance through Ticketmaster, subject to availability. The parking lot can be accessed via 400 William R. Allen Rd. while heading southbound. Once you reach the address, turn right onto the access road leading into the lot.
Rogers Stadium bag policy
Like most major venues, Rogers Stadium has a strict bag policy. Only small clutches, belt bags, fanny packs or clear bags are permitted to help staff safely and efficiently screen guests entering the venue. Backpacks will not be allowed inside.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early to explore the venue, snap photos and check out the fan zone, which includes a giant Ferris wheel offering sweeping views of the city skyline.
