Five ways Kia is committed to sustainability and protecting the environment

Kia's Electric Vehicle is Protecting the Environment

Automaker Kia has entered a more evolved phase of its business, which places emphasis on sustainable transportation solutions. The automotive company recently announced that it will be steering away from the traditional manufacturing model and shifting toward the creation of innovative mobility products.

Now, the company formerly known as Kia Motors strives to improve the lives of customers, on a global scale, in an inspiring and environmentally friendly manner. Since expanding its horizons, Kia has shown its unwavering dedication to a greener future and protecting the environment in several impressive ways.

The automaker launched new branding

In 2020, Kia renewed its commitment to promoting sustainable movement with the launch of their Plan S strategy, supported by their new branding, which was launched earlier this year. Kia’s fresh strategy will introduce more eco-friendly production methods and collaborative partnerships worldwide. Its first dedicated battery electric vehicle, the Kia EV6, will be available in Canada in early 2022.

Kia hosted a concert powered by its new electric vehicle

Kia’s new branding was introduced with a concert that took place on July 27 at the Kortright Centre for Conservation in Ontario. Multi-platinum Canadian singer, songwriter and actor Fefe Dobson captivated virtual and in-person audiences with an energetic performance. Her band’s electric guitar was fully powered by the Kia EV6.

The company adopted a new design philosophy

The “Opposites United” design philosophy makes its debut on the EV6 and will inform the design of all future Kia models. The philosophy is based on five key design pillars: “Bold for Nature”, “Joy for Reason”, “Power to Progress”, “Technology for Life” and “Tension for Serenity”.

The exterior design of EV6 is a representation of “Power to Progress”. An evolution of the brand’s strengths in design, the EV6 is a culmination of skills and expertise collected throughout Kia’s design-led transformation – investigating the future and beyond.

Kia has several electric and hybrid vehicles in its lineup

Kia currently offers the Soul EV and Niro EV, both with more than 380 kilometres of all-electric range. Kia will also be introducing an additional seven plug-in hybrid or dedicated electric models by 2025.

Along with creating battery-powered and hybrid vehicles, Kia is pursuing other eco-friendly modes of transportation and implementing sustainable production methods.

The opening of the Kia EV Experience Centre

The company recently opened the first-ever dedicated electric vehicle (EV) educational facility for Kia in Canada in Vancouver.

The Kia EV Experience Centre (EVEC) amplifies the brand’s commitment to vehicle electrification. It also seeks to educate consumers on the future of transportation and the benefits of electric vehicles.

Through the EVEC, the team at Kia also helps educate drivers on how to transition from their current gas-powered vehicle to a plug-in or pure electric vehicle that best suits their lifestyle. Anyone interested in Kia and protecting the environment can visit the EVEC to test drive one of Kia’s hybrid or electric cars.
