Summer in Toronto continues with another jam-packed week of concerts at venues around the city. Whether you’re looking to get serenaded by Chris Brown and Usher or relive being a teenage girl in the 2000s with Hilary Duff, there is a concert in Toronto this week for every music lover.
From throwback R&B to bubblegum pop, concert lovers will have plenty of opportunities to catch a show or two around the GTA in the coming days.
Here are some of the artists performing in Toronto this week:
Rush
- When: Aug. 11 and Aug. 13
- Where: Scotiabank Arena
Legendary Toronto rock band Rush is back on tour for the first time in 11 years. Having already played two shows last week at Scotiabank Arena, they’ll be performing two more shows this week on the Fifty Something tour — following their last tour, which saw them celebrating 40 years as a band.
Featuring famed bassist, guitarist, and vocalist Geddy Lee, Rush is a national treasure. The band has sold 26 million albums, won 10 Juno Awards, and was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1994. The band was later inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.

Chris Brown and Usher

- Where: Rogers Stadium
R&B legends Chris Brown and Usher have teamed up to bring their biggest hits from the 2000s and 2010s to Toronto as part of their doubleheader, The R&B Tour. The show will be taking over Toronto midweek, with shows slated for Tuesday and Wednesday at Rogers Stadium.
Usher shot to fame in the late 90s with his sophomore album My Way, which peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 chart. He has become one of the best-selling music artists of all time, and has won eight Grammy Awards, 18 Billboard Music Awards, and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Usher released his ninth LP, Coming Home, in 2024.
Chris Brown has also cemented his place as one of the biggest R&B musicians of the 2000s and 2010s. In 2004, Brown released his debut self-titled album through Jive Records, which went double platinum. He has put out 12 studio albums, the latest being Brown, which came out earlier this year. Like Usher, he is one of the world’s best-selling artists and has been nominated for 26 Grammy Awards, winning two.

Hilary Duff
- When: Aug.12 and Aug 13
- Where: RBC Amphitheatre
For over two decades, Hilary Duff has been THAT GIRL. Understandably, fans collectively freaked out earlier this year when she announced Luck…or Something, her first album in over a decade and corresponding concert tour.
As part of the tour, Duff will hit the stage in Toronto this week, performing at RBC Amphitheatre on Wednesday and Thursday evening.
Duff started her pop career back in the early 2000s with her first pop album (and second album overall), Metamorphosis, which topped the Billboard 200 at number one and generated singles “Come Clean” and “So Yesterday,” with the former spending 13 weeks on the Billboard Top 100. Her third album, Hilary Duff, debuted at number two on the chart, selling over a million copies. Her 2007 album Dignity was met with critical praise and spawned “With Love,” which remains her highest charting song to date.

Alexisonfire

Another legendary Canadian rock band will be tearing up the stage in Toronto this week. St. Catherine’s post-hardcore five-piece band, Alexisonfire, are playing RBC Amphitheatre this Friday and Saturday as part of the twentieth anniversary tour for their 2006 album Crisis.
Fronted by man-of-many-hats Dallas Green, Alexisonfire has been credited as one of the bands that brought heavier music to the forefront of the Canadian music scene and influenced Canadian alternative and punk bands of the 2010s. Over the last two decades, the band has released five albums and earned three Juno Awards.

Chance The Rapper

- Where: HISTORY
Chicago’s Chance The Rapper is coming back to Toronto Sunday night to celebrate the tenth anniversary of his critically acclaimed 2016 album Coloring Book. Released as his third mixtape, the project won Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards. It is widely considered his magnum opus, appearing on numerous year-end best lists, including Pitchfork, NME and Rolling Stone.

Kehlani
- When: Aug. 16
- Where: RBC Amphitheatre
American singer, songwriter, and dancer Kehlani will be closing out the heavy-hitting lineup of shows in Toronto this week. They’ll be playing RBC Amphitheatre on their North American tour this Sunday to support their self-titled fifth album, which came out earlier this year.
Kehlani’s musical career began in the group PopLyfe, who were contestants on season six of America’s Got Talent. After leaving PopLyfe in 2014, the star has released two mixtapes, five albums, and has supported both Demi Lovato and Halsey on tour.
