Toronto, get ready for an unforgettable spectacle! The sixth annual Toronto Dragon Festival (TDF) returns to Nathan Phillips Square from Friday, August 29 to Sunday, August 31, igniting the city with a thrilling fusion of tradition, technology, and imagination.
This year’s Festival promises mythical encounters and futuristic thrills. For the first time ever, beloved figures from Black Myth: Wukong and Chinese mythology’s iconic Nezha will come to life in vibrant performances, turning the square into a live-action fantasy universe. Don’t miss your chance to snap photos and interact with these legendary characters!
Adding to the excitement, the festival will feature humanoid robots and robot dogs – dancing, interacting, and showing off their skills along with our dragons and lions, in a one-of-a-kind showcase that merges ancient cultural artistry with tomorrow’s technology.
Have we mentioned that the signature crowd-pleasers are also back and bolder than ever: – High-pole lion and dragon dances will defy gravity with breathtaking acrobatics – irresistible Asian street foods and sold-out food booths to tempt every palate – The magical Luminati Night Light Show, lighting up the skyline after dark – The Reflection Water Show, transforming the iconic pool into a dreamscape – A high-fashion runway show featuring Canada-made, traditional, and ethnic designs
And don’t miss out our cultural booths, where every activity reveals a story, and a renewed commitment to cross-cultural connection, with vibrant performances from Indigenous, Asian, Caribbean, and other global communities.
