Low Sky Weekend: Low Sky, Lo-Fi: An Evening of Origins

June 27 @ 7:00 pm9:45 pm

For the past twenty years, Peter Kuplowsky has championed genre and underground cinema as both a curator and independent producer. In 2026, he founded Low Sky Productions, a Toronto-based, filmmaker-driven development company dedicated to discovering, fostering and advancing original film projects into relationships with seasoned production companies. In tandem with its development stream, Low Sky is also committed to championing gonzo media, be they episodic, feature, narrative or non-fiction, through year-round film screenings and festivals.

To mark the unveiling of its inaugural slate of productions, from June 26th to June 28th, Low Sky will be hosting a micro-festival of screenings across key venues in Toronto that defined Peter Kuplowsky’s career as a film curator, and showcasing films that inspired his career as a producer.

This collection of short films showcase the early works of artists that LOW SKY PRODUCTIONS has either supported or is committed to supporting in the future. Peter Kuplowsky curated many of these short films during his time as a short film curator for Toronto After Dark and Fantastic Fest, and all sparked friendships that have further transformed into professional collaborations.

The programme features early works from Avalon Fast, Chris Nash, Mickey Reece, Steven Kostanski, Tipper Newton and more!
