Taste of Downtown Yonge: Winter Warm Up launches this winter as the first edition of a new year-round food walking tour program, designed to connect locals to the diverse flavours—and ever-evolving stories—of Toronto’s downtown core.
This winter edition especially invites university and college students, along with curious locals, to discover Downtown Yonge as a neighbourhood through food.
Presented by the Downtown Yonge BIA, Winter Warm Up is a 2-hour guided walking food tour running weekly on Thursday evenings from February through April. The tour explores Downtown Yonge through international comfort foods and neighbourhood favourites—offering a welcoming way to experience the area during the colder months.
Each tour includes visits to 4 local restaurants, paired with engaging storytelling that connects Downtown Yonge’s past, present, and future, and highlights how this ever-changing neighbourhood continues to evolve through food, culture, and community.
Tours are capped at 15 participants, and thanks to BIA support, tickets are just $20, making this an accessible way for students and locals to explore Downtown Yonge’s vibrant food scene.
