Back on the good hoof

Never say never. The Black Hoof’s Jennifer Agg announced over the weekend that her insanely popular Hoof Café brunch spot is back in business. The reason?

“So everyone can stop being mad at me,” she texted.

Closed in 2011, the rebooted café will now operate out of her Hoof Raw Bar (926 Dundas W, at Gore Vale, 647-346-9356, theblackhoof.com) with a lineup that includes octopus with grits and sweetbreads with waffles. Sounds offal!.

Brunch runs Thursday to Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm, and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. And like before, they don’t take reservations, though the new room’s more than twice as large as before so it should be easier to snag a table. We suggest showing up early – like 9 am. But why the 180?

“It’s two restaurants in one,” explains Agg. “So revolutionary.”
