Though he’s known to most as Marcus Dent – Sean’s ex-boyfriend and Maria’s seriously conflicted main squeeze – Brit actor Charlie Condou popped into the Queen Mother for a bit of a bite and a natter this afternoon.
“I saw this guy across the room sitting at a table and thought he looked an awful lot like Marcus from Coronation Street,” says the Mum’s Kelly St. John. “But I didn’t really think it was him. And then a customer came over and said, ‘that’s the guy from Coronation Street!'”
In town for last weekend’s British Isle Show, Condou apparently enjoyed his lunch of bah me hang noodles with spicy shrimp followed by a slice of hot-chocolate cheesecake from Dufflet (dufflet.com) and just a glass of water, thank you. Unlike most celebs, Condou arrived just after the lunch rush sans entourage.
“He was really nice to everybody and we even got him to pose for a picture,” says long-time Street fan St. John.
