The sign on the door at Kinton Ramen (51 Baldwin, at Beverley, 647-748-8900, kintonramen.com) - the all-noodle soup spinoff the ridiculously popular Guu - says it opens on May 18th. Not according to the dude assembling the patio fence out front.
"They're opening on Monday, quiet right?" says he.
Guu's manager James Kim confirms NOW's unnamed source.
"We'll be focusing on dinner at first and introducing lunch on Friday the 18th," says King.
The 40-seat resto - plus 15-seat patio - is dedicated to ramen - miso ramen ($9.50), veggie ramen ($9.80), Swiss cheese ramen ($10.80) - with optional toppings like seaweed, butter and grated garic (all $1).
Guu seems to always locate itself close to institutions of higher education to draw in the lucrative student dollar. Was the Baldwin Street storefront's proximity to OCAD a consideration?
"Not only are there lots of students, we're close to the hospitals, too."
