Japan aid, part 2

Following hot on the heels of this Sunday’s sold-out event, a second dinner to benefit the victims of the recent Japanese earthquake and disaster has just been announced.

Dubbed Ganbare Japan – hang in there, Japan! – the next sure-to sell-out-immediately supper takes place Monday April 4th at 5:30 pm at Forte Bistro (133 Richmond W, at York, 416-867-1909)

As well as host resto toque Greg Argent, the participating chefs include – drum roll, please – Paul Boehmer of Boehmer (boehmer.ca), Adam Colquhoun of Oyster Boy, Jason d’Abba of Magna Golf Course, Top Chef Canada contestant Dustin Gallagher of Grace, Masaki Hashimoto of Hasimoto, John Higgins of George Brown Chefs School, Seichi Kashiwabara of Zen, Didier Leroy of Didier, Kevin McKenna of Globe, Basil Pesce of Biff’s, Michael Stadtlander of Eigensinn Farm, Masayuki Tamaru of Simple Bistro and Hiro Sushi’s Hiro Yoshida.

Tickets are $150 plus tax per person and are available from Forte. Be sure to mention the April 4th Ganbare Japan event when reserving.

Cash or cheques are preferred so that all of the funds raised go directly to the Japan Relief Fund, although Visa and Mastercard are accepted.
