‘Licious Dish

What’s July without another round of the Summerlicious food fest? This season the list of participating restaurants offering discounted three-course lunches and dinners is bigger than ever and includes the kitchens of several serious toques. Reservations go live Thursday (June 20).

Perhaps the biggest of the bunch is David Chang’s Momofuku Daisho (190 University, at Adelaide West, 647-253-8000, momofuku.com/toronto/daisho), where 45 bucks at dinner gets you chef’s signature steamed bao followed by pork chops à la Chang or spicy vegetarian rice cakes and (Rob Ford, take note) a slice of crack pie with whipped cream.

Another high-profile boîte helmed by an imported culinary superstar, Daniel Boulud’s Café Boulud (60 Yorkville, at Bay, 416-964-0411, fourseasons.com/toronto/dining/cafe_boulud, @FSToronto) in the new Yorkville Four Seasons jumps on board with a $25 noontime nosh and $45 supper, while Susur Lee’s swelegant Bent (777 Dundas West, at Markham, 647-352-0092, bentrestaurant.com, @BentRestaurant) offers the likes of shrimp tacos with charred onion salsa, Malay-style pulled beef ravioli and profiteroles for $35.

Best meal-deal steal? The Rubino brothers’ Strada 241 (241 Spadina, at Grange, 647-351-1200, strada241.com, @Strada241) at lunch, when grilled asparagus with zabaglione, one of the best thin-crusted Margherita pizzas in town and a bowl of vegan strawberry sorbetto finished with house-made pizzelle cookies goes for all of $15.
