Limited release scotch

The Glenlivet Nadurra

Rating: NNNN

Why I’m a sucker for sherried whisky, and the latest Nadurra release, aged in first-fill Oloroso butts, is no exception. It’s all dried fruits, almonds and spiced chocolate. A dram made for an autumn evening.

Price 750 ml/$84.50

Availability LCBO 387498, limited supply

Laphroaig Cairdeas

Rating: NNN

Why A gateway to the full-blown funk of Laphroaig, Cairdeas (“friendship” in Gaelic) makes quick pals with most mouths. The nose is complex, with whiffs of peat bogs, tangerines and Grandma’s soap. But as you sip, its sweet and salty approachability shines through.

Price 750 ml/$99.90. Fall release.

Availability LCBO 329045

Why A limited release of Bowmore’s 15 Years Old Darkest, this is another rich, heavily sherried nip. Supremely fruity and elegantly peated. A well-balanced whisky.
