Margherita does Dundas

Queen Margherita Pizza is about to launch a third location at 772 Dundas West. But first, they have to get the second QMP at Jane and Annette up and running.

“We’re aiming for an October 18 opening on Jane,” says QMP honcho John Chetti, who’s also just launched a second outpost of his FBI Pizza in Woodbridge. “So we should be another two or three weeks after that.”

Though the new joint’s lineup is similar to the original’s, Chetti says there’ll be several new, unexpected dishes as well. You’re not doing tacos, are you?

“If we do, they’ll be 1,000 per cent Italian!”

241 Pizza

Michael and Guy Rubino’s Strada 241 (241 Spadina, at Grange, 647-351-1200, strada241.com) launched softly last weekend. The team responsible for Zoom, Luce and Rain return to their rustic Italian roots with an all-day café upfront geared to the caffeine cognoscenti who pack the nearby Dark Horse and a soon-come pizzeria out back. Expect lots of exposed brick, black-and-white period photography and zero barn board.
