Manulife Centre’s 51st floor Panorama Lounge will reopen soon as The One Eighty (not named for its number on Bloor Street, but its, well, panoramic view of the city).
Undergoing a complete renovation, the 2,500 square foot space will feature space for 90 diners, a 14-seat Caesarstone bar, wood and metal finishings and most impressive, the north and south patios (which span a whopping 1,500 square feet) will now have seamless glass panels for unobstructed city views.
The menu will focus on local food, along with the concept of slow food, and rich offerings like duck confit hash, buttermilk fried chicken and waffles and rosemary spatchcock (a fancy term for butterflied) Cornish hen. There will also be more worldly snack cart offerings not on the daily menu, like saffron arancini, sweet and sour tofu and Taiwanese popcorn chicken. The One Eighty should make for a great place for after-work drinks for the Bay-Bloor crowd or a good option to take tourists when you really don’t want to trek all the way down to the CN Tower.
The One-Eighty is at 55 Bloor Street West (at Bay), Manulife Centre 51st Floor.
