Torontos first cat cafe opens its doors

Those looking for a furry friend to cuddle and play with can now head over to TOT the Cat Cafe, which celebrates its grand opening today (November 16).

In collaboration with the Toronto Humane Society, TOT will serve as a place of shelter for the cats until they find a new home.

Its the first cafe of its kind in Toronto. Last year, the race was on for two cat cafes to open in the city. However, neither Pet Me Meow nor Kitty Cat Cafe met the goal of their crowdfunding campaigns or opened up shop.

TOT hosted a grand opening event this weekend, but only those who signed up for the guest list early enough could attend.

The cafes regular hours will run from 10 am to 8 pm and access to the cat room costs $8 dollars including the purchase of comes with the purchase of a drink and food.

But for those who dont want to get their paws on a feline friend, dont fret.

The kitties will be in a different room, so you can enjoy your caffeinated beverages in peace if youd prefer.

TOT the Cat Cafe is located at 298 College Street. See listing.
