Dating in Toronto isn’t for the faint of heart and can come with its fair share of trials and tribulations.

That’s why one social media user is poking fun at it online.

Jeevin Gill, a stand-up comedian in Toronto, took to TikTok to hilariously roast a dating site campaign catered for members of the South Asian community.

Dil Mil, a matchmaking platform based in California, has a few posters scattered around the TTC which are pretty distinguishable thanks to their bright purple color scheme.

From what appears to be Dundas Station in the video, Gill went from poster to poster depicting what he believes is really happening with the characters portrayed in the ads.

“If you’re brown and live in Toronto you’ve seen these Dil Mil ads on the Toronto subway,” he said. “I just want to take a second to let you know how these relationships are going.”

“You dated Neel and you got the feels then you realize this man is emotionally unavailable and will support you on your worst day by telling you about the NBA playoffs,” Gill said about one of the posters.

“If you dated Sukhi you are dukhi because she turned out to be a psycho who goes through your phone every single day,” he said about another.

Many people commented on the video and found the humour in it.

“Sums up the desi dating experience,” one TikTok user said.

“Dated a neel from the GTA and this is exactly what happened,” another said.
