Customers got duped after a restaurant in Toronto said that everything on its menu would be capped at $1 for the entire month.

Sadly, the excitement was short-lived after Fox and Fiddle, located on John Street, said it was all a ruse.

“APRIL FOOLS!,” the restaurant wrote in the comment section under a video posted to TikTok on Monday.

In the video, which has garnered nearly 140,000 views as of publication, a worker at the pub explained that they want to keep their 2024 deals going, like in February when they had free dessert, and in March when they had half off select beverages.

“April, we decided to go a little crazier. We’re capping everything at just a dollar,” he said.

And despite it being the international day of total lies, people in the city still had high hopes.

“I was about to get dressed,” one user wrote.

“Ah you got me,” someone else said.

“I was excited till I realized what day it was,” another person added.

And the joke was worth it, because to date it’s the restaurant’s most viewed video on its TikTok page.

And although they can’t offer what would have been an iconic deal,  they are in fact hiring!
