It’s expected to be a hot long weekend in the city, so why not bring your dog out for a swim at one of Toronto’s outdoor pools on Sunday.

The city is inviting your goodest pup to enjoy a free swim for two days in September. The first day is this Sunday, Sept 3 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m and the second will be later this month on Sept. 24 with the same hours.

This move comes after the city decided to extend dates at its ten outdoor pools for up to three additional weeks to treat Torontonians with some extra fun for the long weekend and beyond.

In addition to the list of pools above, three pools will also be available on Sept 24:

  • Kiwanis Outdoor Pool – 375 Cedarvale Ave, East York
  • Ledbury Park – 160 Ledbury St., North York
  • Monarch Park – 115 Felstead Ave, East York

The city is reminding dog owners that only dogs are allowed to swim in the pool due to health and safety reasons. The dogs must be accompanied by an adult and there is a maximum limit of two dogs per owner.

If a dog needs assistance, they must be removed from the pool immediately and dogs displaying aggressive behaviour will also be asked to leave.

You do not need to reserve a time slot, however you do need to provide proof of rabies vaccination.

All guests aged 12 or older are welcome to come to the paws party.
