Calling all pizza lovers! Eataly, the Italian marketplace with almost 50 global locations, will open its doors at Sherway Gardens on Thursday, Nov. 2.

The new space features two restaurants, five counters and a mozzarella lab alongside a wide ranging selection of Canadian and Italian made products.

Eataly first launched in Canada in 2019, with its flagship location at the Manulife Centre at Bay and Bloor. In addition to the Sherway Gardens, a third location is also slated at CF Shops Don Mills.

“We knew when launching in Canada that this would be an important market for us, and the last four years have continually reinforced this,” Tommaso Brusò, CEO of Eataly North America, said in a press release, ahead of Eataly’s Sherway Gardens unveiling.

The new location combines eclectic retail options with inviting dining experiences to create a refined and buzzing marketplace teeming with fresh produce and mouth-watering culinary components.

The two restaurants at Eataly Sherway Gardens  include the first Canadian outpost of Il Pastaio, whose fresh pasta concept began at Eataly Flatiron in New York City. Built upon an open plan production space affording guests the opportunity to watch their pasta being made by hand, it remains a popular choice among pasta enthusiasts everywhere.

The second is La Pizza e La Pasta, which quickly became synonymous with Eataly’s distinctive dining culture, and can be found in all Eataly locations in North America, including Eataly Yorkville.

At La Pizza e La Pasta, guests can choose from a selection of fresh and dry pasta, or watch as professional pizza makers whip up Neapolitan-style pizzas made-to-order in wood-fired ovens.

Better yet, Eataly’s marketplace sells the ingredients its restaurants use, meaning everything served on site can be recreated at home.

Its marketplace offers more than 100 types of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar, over 200 types of artisanal pasta di Gragnano, tomato sauces, and an assortment of sweets.

A selection of more than 500 cheese and cured meats adorn its central island, alongside fresh pasta and mozzarella made onsite.

Guests can also shop at Eataly’s quick-service counters, including its gelato shop Il Gelato Artigianale, its quick-serve bakery offering cakes and croissants, an all-day coffee bar and its ready-to-eat-bread specialist, serving up a variety of paninis and Roman style pizza alla pala.

Eataly Sherway Gardens opens on Nov. 2 at 3 p.m.
