This custom bike site is a hippie kind of “shared” design fixed/singlespeed bike where you pick the colours of each component, but beyond that it’s all the same simple bike (beyond frame size) – all of which helps make this little beauty so affordable (US$399 plus shipping).

I spend a few minutes everyday pretend-building one, hovering over the step where I give them my credit card number, then quickly closing the page and wondering if I will ever again create that perfect mashup again.
Part of me is hoping Retire my Ride fails to come through on a big bike subsidy for that teal/rust 1991 Acura I gave them. In fact, I hope they don’t so I can build a teal/rust coloured Republic bike in memoriam.
Unfortunately, there’s no option to create a “scraper bike,” which, according to this video, are like the next big thing from Oakland, CA.[rssbreak]
