Looking for a new furry friend to join your household? A dog rescue organization in York Region is hosting weekly open houses for prospective adopters to meet all the pups in need of a home.
Dog Tales is a dog rescue and horse sanctuary set on 50 acres in King City, north of Toronto.
The organization takes in abused and neglected animals to heal and be rehabilitated while they wait for forever homes.
“Along with medical care, our team provides all of the love, attention and training that our rescues need to recover from their difficult pasts, so that they can move on to permanent, loving homes, which most do,” reads Dog Tales’ website.
Using its picturesque location, Dog Tales posts adorable photos of its rescue dogs in beautiful and sometimes humorous backdrops.
In an effort to spread the word about all the pups in need of a home, the organization is opening its doors once a week on Sundays for visitors to see the grounds and meet the animals.
On this upcoming Sunday, July 2, there will be a playgroup and meet and greet with select dogs. The kennel will be open from 12-2 p.m. and meet and greets with the dogs will be from 12-4 p.m.
Dog Tales asks that visitors refrain from bringing their own pets to the open house, as some of the rescue pets are not friendly with other dogs. Dog Tales also encourages visitors to dress for the weather as the tours will be outside.
The organization says it cannot guarantee certain dogs will be available to meet in person during the open house due to adoption status, behavioural challenges or medical concerns. However, to meet a specific dog, prospective adopters are asked to fill out an adoption application to book a private appointment.
