Craving a cure
Remember the thrill of sleepover parties? Well, next Wednesday (June 15), the Crave Party (at Crystalroom , 567 Queen West) – complete with PJ dress code, group manicures and serious snackage – has all that juvenile goodness, with a dash of adult fundraising thrown in for good measure. Proceeds from the event benefit the Canadian Diabetes Association . Support local designers – okay, while scoring goodies for y’self – by hitting the biannual Downtown Urban Design Event (DUDE) this weekend at the Latvian House (491 College). Like a church bazaar but way cooler, this is your chance to pick from an assortment of cute locally made buyables, from fashion and jewellery to ceramics, toys and treats. Join the Great White North Women’s Dragon Boat Club Saturday (June 11) at the Mod Club Theatre (722 College) for the second annual Twista Sistas Exposed Fashion Show , which features local athletes showcasing sports and casual wear by local designers and retailers. 7 pm (doors 6 pm). $10 advance or $15 at the door.
