Fashion Tuesdays
If you’re looking for Tuesday-night entertainment not of the cheap movie variety, hit Ultra Supper Club (314 Queen West), where every week Fabric presents the Katwalk fashion event on the patio. (Last week was the M-One-11 launch). Chill with a drink, check out the models (or be checked out – whatevs) or just enjoy the tunes. If you’re fond of outdoor antique markets but can’t handle the oppressive heat that often comes with, trawl for treasure from more than 100 sources in the air-con environs of Yorkdale Shopping Centre during the Summer 2005 Antique Show , starting Monday (July 11) and running to July 17. Eager to find out what your heirlooms are worth? Swing by the appraisal clinic July 14 or 15 from 11 am to 7 pm and find out for $5 a pop. Collective effort
Whether you’re a craftster, fashion designer, musician or visual artist, Toronto’s Famous Loner, Jennifer Lorraine Fraser , is looking for you – to join the artist collective she’s set up with a couple of like-minded friends, that is. The theme is a A Work In Progress, and it’s open to anyone looking to sell his or her wares.
The event will be held at the Rivoli every last Sunday of the month, starting July 31. So, yeah, pretty much all you have to do is show up with your pieces and sell, sell, sell. They’re also looking for guest speakers, so if you want to share your creatively themed experiences or promote your new projects, this would be the place to do it. Interested in involvement?
