Frock, 97 Roncesvalles, 416-516-1333 www.frock.ca

It feels like you’re raiding the closet of your uber-stylish sister or aunt – y’ know, with the gold card and weight fluctuation issues – when you cruise the racks at shopping landmark-in-the-making Frock . Owned by former-fashion stylist Cathryn Dajka , this charming corner dress shop in the heart of the old Polish Village features staggeringly cute designer pieces at affordable designer price points. And since Dajka only stocks one of each size, when you discover your own it’s an especially sweet retail high. The store’s sassy labels include Canadian faves Chulo Pony, Ça va de soie and Sushi Design Group, Nougat and Naughty from the UK and Free People from across the border.

If you want to add whimsy to your wardrobe, this is a good place to start. There’s also an excellent selection of low-priced jewellery and accessories for when you’re broke but jonesin’ for style. Dajka’s picks : Nougat skirt $150, Echo knitted flower $25, Floral earrings $96, Matt and Nat handbag $70 and patterned scarf $15, Moonrocks bracelet $75, Echo scarf $33, Sushi Design Group (SDG) silk top $240.

Look for : Viola Blanca accessories, especially the folded silk neckties, Ça va de soie knitwear and the generous sale racks full of super-score items.

Hours : Tuesday to Friday 11 am to 7 pm and Saturday 11 am to 6 pm.
