Happy Canada Day!

Every year, the city marks the joyous national holiday with several fireworks celebrations. That’s why we’ve rounded up all the places you can watch fireworks displays in the GTA.

Here is where you can celebrate Canada’s 157th birthday:

Ashbridge’s Bay

Located along the waterfront of Toronto’s east end, Ashbridges Bay Park is the go-to location for fireworks. Attendees are advised to not travel by car to this event due to large crowds. Public transportation is encouraged instead. The fireworks display will kick off at 10 p.m.

Centennial Park

If you live in Etobicoke, you can bring your family and friends to Centennial Park for its Canada Day fireworks. Fun fact, the park was actually opened in 1967 to celebrate the country’s 100th birthday. The fireworks are set to begin at 10 p.m. sharp.

Milliken Park

Those in Scarborough can head to Milliken Park, situated east of McCowan Road, for its fireworks display. The park also features a playground that was recently updated in 2022 for younger children between the ages of two and five. The fireworks will start at 10 p.m.

Stan Wadlow Park

East York residents can make their way to Stan Wadlow Park near O’Connor Avenue and Woodbine Avenue for their fireworks celebration. The park is also home to a multipurpose sports field, a dog off-leash area, a splash pad and a children’s playground. Fireworks will take place at 10 p.m.

Downsview Park

Downsview Park is inviting you to its annual Canada Day festival. The event will have live entertainment, games, inflatable and lots of vendors to enjoy. This is free to attend and the night will end off with a dazzling fireworks display at 10 p.m.

Canada’s Wonderland

Why not spend the day riding some thrilling roller coasters at Canada’s Wonderland and end it off with their iconic fireworks display. The amusement park is hosting its annual fireworks spectacle on Canada Day at approximately 10 p.m.

The city is also reminding residents that fireworks are only permitted on your private property until 11 p.m. on Canada Day. A permit is required to set off fireworks on all other days.

Additionally, fireworks are not allowed to be set off in parks, on beaches, in a street, a parking lot, on a balcony, or on any private property that is not your own.
