Famous actors keep getting put on the spot on red carpets and have been delivering some unforgettable Toronto accents.

A new addition to the hilarious trend, and the latest person to fall victim, is Canadian actor Simu Liu.

The University of Western Ontario alumni was on the red carpet for Barbie the movie in Toronto last week when he was asked to give his best impersonation of a “Toronto man.”

In an Interview with 99.9 Virgin Radio Toronto, Liu was asked what pick-up line he would use if he was trying to take someone out on a date.

With little hesitation he jumped into character.

“Yo shorty, seen. Yo, the man-dem be looking at you, and they just trying to appreciate that. Why don’t you and I bounce and go to the Demetres and grab some crepes?” he said.

When asked why he would pick that specific desert chain, he shared that it was the only place he ever took his dates when he was 16 years old.

He proved that even with the incredible success he’s had with shows like Kim’s Convenience and movies like Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, he is a Toronto boy at heart.

This comes as Idris Elba was also recently put to the test during an interview with ET Canada in London, Ontario where he was promoting his new Apple TV+ series “Hijack.”

The British actor tried his hand at a Canadian accent but aborted the mission as soon as he started.

“Oh yeah. Canadian, oh yeah. Mans I’ve never been to… I can’t even do it,” he said.
