Scholastic selects

Preparing to make a belated back-to-school shopping run? Check out the smart student accessories at your local Real Canadian Superstore (2549 Weston, 416-246-9192, and others, superstore.ca), where you’ll find colourful felt pencil cases and sandwich-shaped lunch containers for $2 each. A roll-up set of writing utensils including pencil crayons, ruler, sharpener and eraser is $6, and a robot-decalled insulated jar and bottle are $6 and $7 respectively.

Boot it

Blundstone boots have traditionally come in classic hues like black and grey, but the Aussie brand is switching things up for fall with some two-toned styles. A brown version features a light, neutral sole, while a black option has red side elastic and a red-and-black base. Pick up your favourite pair at the Australian Boot Company (698 Queen West, 416-504-2411, and other, australianboot.com).

More shoes news

Also in the shoe department, Club Monaco (157 Bloor West, 416-591-8837, and others, clubmonaco.com) has launched its first in-house footwear collection for women. Select made-in-Italy styles include a classic blue suede pump, flats in black with silver studs or a snakeskin print, and a killer stiletto sandal with cheetah motif accents. Prices range from $150 to $350.

Industrial arts

Junction Triangle salvage spot Metropolis Factory (50 Edwin, 416-629-4297, metropolisfactory.com) is looking for vendors for its monthly Artisans Of The Metropolis bazaar. Twenty-five booths ranging from 25 to 120 square feet are up for grabs for work with a vintage or industrial vibe, including home decor, furniture, lighting, art, crafts, food or clothing. Email events@metropolisfactory.com for an application.
