To many teens and millennials, dabbing may be known as a popular dance move.
But for those involved in the marijuana industry, dabbing is becoming one of the trendiest ways to consume the drug.
The process involves ingesting cannabis from highly concentrated preparations, which are known as dabs. They’re made by extracting THC from cannabis using a solvent like butane or carbon dioxide, resulting in sticky oils also commonly referred to as wax, shatter, budder, and butane hash oil. [WARNING: Do not try and make your own cannabis concentrates at home as it can be extremely dangerous. As well, dabbers can severely burn themselves during the extraction process if they are not careful.]

Smoking dabs has been around for about a decade. Though in recent years, the rise of more advanced extraction methods has led to the creation of several kinds of cannabis concentrates – resulting in dabbing’s popularity.
To understand this phenomenon sweeping the weed world, NOW turned to glassblower Mastah Rolla, a.k.a. Andrew Edwards, and the folks at Hidden Valley Reserve for a dabbing tutorial at this past weekend’s Karma Cup weed competition.
