Browse and shop your favourite books while having a drink in hand at Indigo’s upcoming urban concept store in downtown Toronto.
The new store will be at The Well, a condominium located in the King West neighbourhood. The book company made the announcement on Wednesday, stating the store will be a 16,000-square feet shopping experience that will include exciting new features, such as a vinyl record shop, a plant shop and a gourmet coffee truck with pastries, beer and wine.
There will also be immersive shopping opportunities where people are shown several products and their respective qualities, as well as book clubs, events and other gatherings.
Indigo says this move comes in an effort to expand and transform its range of lifestyle merchandise and in-store experiences for its customers.
“We know our customers love the current Indigo stores, but we also know the world is changing and people are craving more meaningful experiences that get them closer to their passions,” Indigo CEO Peter Ruis said in a statement.
“We are thrilled to offer our customers an elevated experience that is much more than a shop. This will be a destination and social meeting place, celebrating the best of what Indigo does; Books, Music, Fashion and Culture – it will be a total lifestyle emporium,” he added.
The new store design is developed by UK-based brand innovation studio Dalziel & Pow. It was carefully selected to be at The Well where there will be a mix of shops, restaurants, a food market, workspaces and residences.
The new store is expected to open this fall.
