Written, directed by and starring a man who is married to Charlotte Gainsbourg, who plays Charlotte in this film, My Wife Is An Actress has all the self-obsessiveness of a middle-period Woody Allen movie (right down to the familiar Jewish-goyish dichotomy). It’s the story of a man who becomes fixated on the fidelity of his wife, who is more celebrated than he is and often spends her days simulating romantic involvement with beautiful, charismatic people. An entertaining and intelligent romantic comedy, if you like this sort of thing. 91 minutes.
