Muzik-related drama continues to dog Drake.
A week after the hip-hop superstar issued a statement condemning gun violence in the wake of the fatal shooting of two people at his OVO Fest after-party earlier this month, autograph seeker Pedro Sacadura is suing Drake, the nightclub and five members of Drake’s entourage” over an altercation that allegedly took place after last year’s concert.
According to a statement of claim filed in Ontario Superior Court, Sacadura was waiting outside a metal barrier at Muzik’s VIP entrance when Drake arrived around 1 am. At that point, a member of the rapper’s entourage “made a number of derogatory remarks at Pedro’s friend.”
When Sacadura “loudly voiced dissatisfaction,” the man apparently picked up the metal barricade and swung it, hitting Sacadura and his friend. Nonetheless, he called out to Drake for an autograph and was backhanded by one of the men. He then tossed the vinyl record sleeve he was hoping to get signed, striking the man in the back. A scuffle ensued, during which Sacadura claims he was punched and kicked.
Suffering from a hairline fracture of his leg, he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital by ambulance, received stitches in his chin and lip and was left with a scar on his face, according to the documents. Sacadura is seeking $100,000 in personal injury damages. The allegations have not been proven in court.
