Daniel Lanois is performing a free rooftop show this weekend

A west end mechanic has recruited producer and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Lanois to play a rooftop benefit concert this weekend.

The performance is part of Master Mechanic and Dundas West Animal Hospital’s Woofest fundraiser, which takes place from 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday, May 14 at the corner of Howard Park and Dundas West. The Emmylou Harris, Peter Gabriel and Bob Dylan collaborator is doing a meet and greet at 2 pm and is scheduled take to the roof at 3:30 pm following a 3 pm set by Crooked House Road.

Proceeds from the benefit will go Moosonee Puppy Rescue, The Farley Foundation, The Parkside Food Bank and The Redwood. There will also be a BBQ, contests with prizes and an array of dog experts will be on hand to answer all your dog walking, dog daycare and dog grooming queries. Get full details here. Lanois’ last solo album, Flesh And Machine, came out in 2014.
