Demon’s Choice

Rating: NNNNN

Sure, the Spaceshits and Scat Rag Booster have long since split, but now that Montreal pop hotshots Arcade Fire and the Dears are travelling the globe chasing international stardom, the hellacious roar of boozy rock ‘n’ roll revelry is insidiously creeping back into the scene, led by Demon’s Claws. According to Jeff Clarke, you should watch out for these no-count roughnecks.

THE CONFUSERS “They’re great. Actually, our drummer Brian (aka B-man Le Duke) used to be in the Confusers. They’ll be playing our CD release party in Montreal.”

CPC GANGBANG “It’s the band formed by Paul Spence (aka Dean Murdoch from Fubar) and Roy Vucino (aka Choyce from Les Sexareenos), with Danny from the Cockroaches on drums. They’ve got this heavy MC5 sound. Their new record sounds really good.”

B-SIDES “I’m always drunk when I see these guys, but from what I can remember, they sound kinda like the Scat Rag Boosters. I definitely have a good time at their shows.”

SKIP JENSEN & HIS SHAKIN’ FEET “He was in Europe, but now he’s back doing his one-man-band thing, which is kinda country-ish. I hope he can play our record release bash, too.”

SUNDAY SINNERS “I really liked their first record, and Chantale is my favourite drummer.”
