Forty Per Cent refund for VELD

VELD organizers are offering partial refunds after the festival’s second day was cancelled due to a thunderstorm.

The two-day event took place at Downsview Park August 1 and 2, but promoters were forced to shut down early when a thunderstorm rolled in.

“VELD Music Festival Toronto will be issuing a 40 per cent refund to all customers who purchased tickets directly from Ticketmaster.ca and authorized points of sale,” they said in a statement.

The cancellation meant EDM fans missed out on sets by Hardwell, Above & Beyond, Duke Dumont and Hot Since 82.

VELD was the second EDM festival that had to partially cancel. The first day of Digital Dreams was cancelled “in the interest of public safety” thanks to uncooperative weather.
