Wu-Tang Clan rapper Raekwon has been accused of exploiting the Canadian grant system.
According to a Canadaland report, the New York MC, aka the Chef, received a total of $11,126 from Factor via the Toronto arm of his IceH20 label/management company in 2012 and 2014. The money was intended for new recordings by Toronto signee JD Era. However, JD Era’s management told Canadaland that the recording sessions never happened, and the local MC has received no support from IceH20 since the grant was awarded.
Raekwon has not commented, but the two rappers have confirmed separately – in interviews and in verses – that they’re no longer working together.
